How to Access LOPA Worksheet
Under Project Settings, Information, simply activate the selection for LOPA to be able to access the LOPA Worksheet. You can have a PHA Project with only LOPA, or with any other study and LOPA.
LOPA Triggers
Under Project Settings, Automation, there is a new section identified as LOPA Triggers.
By selecting the below, any HAZOP scenario which satisfies the criteria will automatically be assigned as LOPA Yes, and be a scenario included in the migration from HAZOP to LOPA. All other scenarios will be required to be assigned manually in order to provide users the flexibility to identify scenarios as LOPA Yes or LOPA No.
Criteria Includes as OR statements (only one criteria needs to be satisfied to be considered a LOPA Yes scenario):
Consequence Categories
Safeguard Categories
>= X Inherent Severity
>= Y Residual Risk Ranking
Mappings Relevant to LOPA
To assign IPL Criteria go to Project Settings, Mappings. These criteria will be in LOPA for assigning Safeguards as IPLs (only Safeguards which have all criteria selected will be considered IPLs and PFD < 1).
IPL Criteria Mappings need to be updated before you Import for LOPA
Under Project Settings, Risk Matrix, a user can set Target Frequency per severity.
HAZOP to LOPA Migration
Users can automatically migrate LOPA Yes Scenarios identified in HAZOP to LOPA using the LOPA Migration Feature.
You can migrate HAZOP Scenarios to LOPA in 2 ways:
1 to 1 consequence to initiating event pairs
Multiple Initiating Events Grouped to 1 Consequence
For 1:1 Pairs:
In the Toolbar, select Edit, and then Migrate to LOPA
When you select this option, the Consequence, Cause (as Initiating Event), Safeguards (as potential IPLs), and Recommendations will be automatically migrated to LOPA.
For grouped LOPA Scenarios:
LOPA Editing
On the LOPA Worksheet, users can add Conditional Modifiers, Enabling Conditions, additional Protection Layers, Recommendations and more.
The defined relationship between RRF and SIL within the platform is the below.
LOPA Import
To import a LOPA File, on the LOPA Worksheet, select File -> Import
Once a file is imported and selected, you will need to map the columns from the imported file (Source) to the Universal Columns in LivePHA (Destination). Once this is completed, you can generate a preview, or simply Import the file. A file format example is included for download on the Import Page.
LOPA Export
