What Does It Mean to Be 'Road Ninja Verified'?

When you're Road Ninja Verified, it shows hiring companies that you’ve passed our thorough vetting process. This includes:

✅ Licence check with Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency.

✅ Criminal convictions check with the Ministry of Justice.

✅ Referee feedback to confirm your skills and experience.

How to Become Road Ninja Verified

Add your referee(s). A referee is someone who can vouch for your work ethic, like a past or current manager or supervisor. Here’s how to add them:

  1. Open the Road Ninja app and go to Profile.

  2. Tap Specifications.

  3. Select Become a Road Ninja.

  4. Tap Add References and fill in their details.

  5. Hit Save—you’re done! 🙌

Wait for your referee to complete the survey; once your referee fills out the quick survey, we’ll review their feedback within 7–10 days (but usually sooner!).

💡 Pro Tip: Encourage your referee to complete the survey quickly to avoid delays.

Who Can Be a Referee?

Your referee should be someone who knows your work and can give an accurate review. Here’s who qualifies:

  • Past or Current Managers (e.g., team lead, dispatcher, or supervisor).

  • Business Owners or Directors you’ve worked for.

  • Character References (if you don’t have work references):

    • Lawyer

    • Accountant

    • Banker

    • Representative of a recognized institution

FAQs

Q: Will hiring companies see my reference survey feedback?

Nope! The feedback is only for Road Ninja’s vetting process—it won’t be shared with hiring companies.

Q: How long does the verification process take?

Once your referee submits their survey, we’ll review everything within 7–10 days (but often faster!).

Q: What does being Road Ninja Verified mean for me?

Being verified makes your profile stand out to hiring companies. It shows that you’ve passed background checks and received trusted references, making you a top choice for driving jobs.

Q: How many referees do I need to provide?

You’ll need to add 1–3 referees to your profile. The more relevant referees you provide, the stronger your profile will be.

Q: Who should I choose as a referee?

Your referee should be someone who can speak to your work ethic or professionalism. Ideally, this will be a past or current manager, supervisor, or team lead. If you don’t have a work referee, a trusted professional like a lawyer, accountant, or banker can provide a character reference instead.

Q: What happens after I add my referees?

Once you add your referees, we’ll send them a quick survey to complete. After they respond, we’ll review their feedback and notify you within 7–10 days (usually sooner).

Q: How can I ensure my referees complete their surveys?

Referees receive an email link to the survey. To avoid delays, let them know to expect this and encourage them to complete it as soon as possible.
