Why you must update your licence
To drive with Road Ninja, you must hold a current and valid New Zealand driver’s licence, including any required endorsements. This ensures you meet all legal requirements for every job on our platform.
To maintain ongoing compliance, our system automatically checks your licence every three days.
Important: If your licence details are flagged as invalid, your profile becomes invisible to companies. You will not appear in search results and cannot accept bookings until this is fixed.
Whenever you renew, replace, or update your licence, it’s important that you also update your licence details in the Road Ninja app. Our automated checks rely on the most accurate and up-to-date information. If there’s a mismatch, your licence could be flagged as invalid, even if it hasn’t expired.
Your licence may be marked as invalid if:
You receive a new version number due to an endorsement change or licence update, which must be manually entered into the system.
You have expired endorsements (e.g., a P endorsement).
The information you entered (such as your last name, licence number, or licence class) does not exactly match official records.
If your last name, licence number, and version number exactly match NZTA records, but your selected licence class or endorsements are incorrect, our system will automatically remove any mismatched entries to keep your profile accurate and compliant.
Restoring your visibility
Updating your licence details triggers an automatic validation check. This typically takes less than one minute.
As soon as your details are verified against official records, your profile becomes visible to companies again.
Note: In rare instances, system processing may take up to 72 hours.
How to update your licence details
Open the Road Ninja app and go to the Profile tab.
Select Specifications > Update Licence.
Tap the X to remove old photos, then tap Add Photos to upload clear images of your new licence card.
Enter your new 3-digit version number exactly as it appears on the card.
Ensure your Licence Classes and Endorsements match your current qualifications.
Tap ‘Save’.
Photo tips for fast verification:
✅ Use natural light to avoid reflections on the card.
✅ Ensure all text and numbers are sharp and readable.
✅ Make sure all four corners of the card are visible.
