Why It's Important to Keep Your Licence Details Updated
To drive with Road Ninja, you must always hold a current and valid New Zealand driver’s licence, including any required endorsements. This ensures you meet all legal requirements for every job on our platform.
To maintain ongoing compliance, our system automatically checks your licence every three days.
Whenever you renew, replace, or update your licence, it’s essential that you also update your licence details in the Road Ninja app. Our automated checks rely on the most accurate and up-to-date information. If there’s a mismatch, your licence could be flagged as invalid, even if it hasn’t expired.
Your licence may be marked as invalid if:
You receive a new version number due to an endorsement change or licence update, which must be manually entered into the system.
You have expired endorsements (e.g., a P endorsement).
The information you entered (such as your last name, licence number, or licence class) does not exactly match official records.
ℹ️ If your last name, licence number, and version number exactly match NZTA records, but your selected licence class or endorsements are incorrect, our system will automatically remove any mismatched entries to keep your profile accurate and compliant.
What Happens if Your Licence Details Are Invalid?
If your licence details are invalid, your profile will become invisible to transport companies on Road Ninja.
❌ This means you won’t appear in search results or be eligible for bookings.
Restoring Your Visibility
Once you have updated your licence details in the app, our system will typically perform a validation check within one minute. If your details are correct and match official records, your licence will be marked as valid, and your visibility status will be restored shortly after.
In some cases, this process may take up to 72 hours, depending on system processing times.
How to Update Your Licence Details
Open the Road Ninja app.
Tap the 'Profile' tab.
Select ‘Specifications’, then tap ‘Update Licence’.
To replace old licence photos:
Tap the ‘X’ on the existing photo.
Confirm by selecting ‘Yes’ when prompted.
Tap ‘Add Photos’ to upload images of your updated licence.
Enter your new licence version number exactly as it appears.
Review and update your Licence Classes and Endorsements to ensure your profile reflects your current qualifications.
Tap ‘Save’ to finish updating your details.
Tips for uploading licence photos:

✅ Make sure the entire licence is visible, including all corners and edges.
✅ Ensure all text and numbers are sharp, clear, and easy to read.
✅ Use natural light or indirect lighting to avoid glare and reflections.
