In this video, you’ll learn how to set up your first (or next) affiliate campaign in Rootabl. We’ll explain what a campaign is, when to create multiple campaigns, how to name and configure one, and how to set commission rules — whether you’re running a simple evergreen offer or a complex, multi-tiered launch. This walkthrough gives you the clarity and structure to build campaigns that convert (without overwhelming yourself or your affiliates).

Step-by-Step Instructions: Set Up a Campaign & Define Commission Filters

Understand What a Campaign Is
A campaign includes:

  • A group of affiliates

  • A set of promo links and materials

  • A set of commission rules

You may want multiple campaigns if:

  • You offer different commission tiers (for example, 20%, 30%, or 40% depending on the affiliate)

  • You run time-based campaigns (such as Spring vs. Summer launches)

  • You sell multiple products, some of which are only available to select affiliates

Recommendation: Start with one campaign and keep it simple. The more campaigns you have, the more setup and communication management is required. One strong campaign is usually more effective than several overcomplicated ones.

Create a Campaign in Rootabl
1. Click "Create Campaign"

  • Choose a clear, affiliate-facing name (such as "Makeup 101 Launch")

  • This name can be changed later if needed

2. Set Tracking Rules

  • Set the tracking window (90 days is recommended for evergreen programs or most launches)

  • Use "last click" attribution unless you have a specific reason to choose otherwise

3. Define Commission Rules

  • Standard Commission:

    • All payments coming into your connected Stripe account are eligible for the same commission

    • Example: 30% commission on all products

  • Advanced Commission (optional):

    • Use filters to apply different commissions based on:

      • Price (e.g. $297 product or $99 payment plan)

      • Product ID

      • Date

    • Example setups:

      • 100% commission on $22 and $44 workshop tickets

      • 25% commission on everything else

      • 30% commission only on a $297 course or its payment plan

  • If your products and pricing are complex, you can combine filters and reach out to the Rootabl team for support
