We're here to help.
Yes, we do have a way to block all adult and pornographic websites.
Go to: "Roots > Blocking > Blocking Settings (top of the screen) > Block Adult Content (under Make Roots Bulletproof) > Turn it "ON".
Note:
Adult websites will be blocked on all browsers
Private Browsing in Safari will be disabled on devices running iOS 18 or earlier. If you’d like to keep it enabled, please update to iOS 26 or later.
The "Clear History" button will be disabled for Safari (but not on other browsers, such as, Chrome)
Permanently disable adult blocking
Although the "Block Adult Content" feature can be disabled by turning it "OFF", you can set adult content to remain blocked permanently by contacting us through the chat bubble below.
When you reach out, please include the email address associated with your Roots account.
To find your Roots-associated email address, go to: "Roots > Profile > Account Settings (top of the screen) > Tap on Your Name > Account Details > Email".
How does it work?
Roots uses Apple’s Screen Time API to activate Adult Web Content Restrictions on your device.
When this is turned on, it applies Apple’s built-in filtering system, which is designed to block access to adult websites across Safari and other browsers. Apple maintains and updates this list directly.
Note: That said, a few customers have reported that it occasionally blocks non-adult sites as well. While this seems to happen only in rare cases, we want you to be aware of it upfront. If it happens, please read this article.
