If you're experiencing issues with screen time displaying 0 min, our "Developer Settings" offer different calculation methods that can help resolve these problems.
How to access "Developer Settings"
Go to Profile tab → Settings (top right gear icon)
Scroll down and find Developer Settings
Look for Calculation in the Screen Time section
After making any changes, tap the refresh icon in the top-right corner of the Home tab
Check if your screen time data appears correctly
The three calculation methods
#1 Automatic (Current Default)
This intelligent method combines both approaches below to give you the most accurate results.
How it works:
Calculates both Cumulative App Time and Apple Screen Time
Compares the two results
If the difference is more than 1 hour, it automatically switches to Apple Screen Time
Otherwise, it uses Cumulative App Time
When to use it:
This is our recommended default setting
Best for most users as it adapts based on data accuracy
Helps avoid major discrepancies automatically
#2 Cumulative App Time
This method takes your list of apps, doesn't count any whitelisted/excluded apps, and adds up the screen time from all remaining apps.
How it works:
Sums individual app usage times
Provides totals that match the sum of individual apps
When to use it:
If you want your total screen time to equal the sum of your individual app times
When you're experiencing inflated totals with other methods
#3 Apple Screen Time
This method uses Apple's own total screen time calculation.
How it works:
Uses Apple's built-in daily screen time totals
Provides results very close to what you see in Apple Screen Time settings
When to use it:
If you want totals that closely match Apple's Screen Time
When experiencing issues with inflated app-by-app calculations
Note: The sum of individual app times may not match the total, which is normal and mirrors Apple's own Screen Time behavior.
Troubleshooting steps
Try switching calculation methods in "Developer Settings"
Tap the refresh icon on your Home tab after each change
Wait a few minutes for data to sync
Test each method to see which works best for your device
Restart your phone if issues persist
