General AI Chat Workflow
Click the GenAI Chat icon in the right-hand sidebar of the main application window
OR
Click the inline AI Chat control provided per your display settings.
Options shown below operate as described in both GenAI Chat interfaces. Only the side panel controls are illustrated for simplicity.
Use the dropdown provided to update your model selection as needed.
Note that this selection will update your default Chat Model setting.
Type your prompt into the field provided.
Click Send to query your selected model with your prompt.
Clicking Send is the only way your data will ever be sent for GenAI processing, and only the data you identify for your prompt will be sent. We will never collect and send data without your knowledge express request.
Review the returned text and click the Regenerate message button to receive additional/alternative results.
When you're ready to insert text, place your cursor at your desired insertion point and click the insert arrow next to the chat results
OR copy portions of the returned text in the side panel and paste them into your application where desired.
Request a Transformation of or Generation from Existing Text
Open the AI Chat interface.
Select the text you want a transformation of or generation from.
Click one of the options provided to compose a prompt.
Note that the options provided are contextual and are based on the amount and location of text you've selected.
Review and modify the prompt text as desired before clicking Send.
Get Prompt Assistance from Rowan
Open the AI Chat and type a prompt in the field provided.
Click the +Add prompt assistance link.
Rowan will search for applicable text in your current application and populate your prompt with that context automatically.
Review and modify the prompt text as desired before clicking Send.
Example AI Task: Request an Application Draft from an IDF
Create a new application file in Rowan Patents.
Open the AI Chat interface.
Construct a prompt:
Type a request for a draft patent application in the prompt field provided.
Copy your invention disclosure form text and paste it into your prompt.
Include any additional parameters you want in your prompt text.
Note that you can type Shift+Enter to include line breaks. Typing Enter alone will send your prompt.
Click Send.
Review the results provided and copy and paste them where desired in the application sections provided.
