Mounjaro is a weekly injectable medication for weight loss that activates two key hormone receptors (GLP-1 and GIP) making it the first dual-acting treatment of its kind. It is currently prescribed off-label in Australia for obesity and metabolic health support.

Who is Mounjaro for?

  • Adults with BMI ≥30, or

  • Adults with BMI ≥27 with a weight-related condition (e.g. prediabetes, PCOS, insulin resistance)

How It Works

  • Reduces appetite and food cravings

  • Slows stomach emptying and promotes fullness

  • Enhances insulin sensitivity and regulates blood sugar

  • Targets GIP & GLP-1 pathways for enhanced effect over semaglutide (Wegovy/Ozempic)

Expected Weight Loss

  • Clinical studies show up to 22.5% total body weight loss
