Nomad Insurance Complete: Can a family member visit me if I’m hospitalized?

Yes — the Nomad Insurance Complete plan may help cover the cost for a close family member to visit you if you are hospitalized.

If you are seriously hospitalized while traveling, the Nomad Insurance Complete plan may reimburse certain travel expenses for one close family member to come and be with you.

This benefit is designed for serious medical situations where support from a loved one is important.


What the benefit may cover

The benefit may cover the following for one family member traveling to the location where you are hospitalized (or about to be hospitalized):

  • One economy round-trip flight

  • Reasonable local transportation costs

  • Accommodation and meals for up to 15 days

Coverage applies only when the conditions of the Nomad Insurance Complete plan are met.


When this benefit applies

This benefit applies only when the hospitalization meets the conditions outlined in the Nomad Insurance Complete plan.

Medical documentation may be required to confirm the severity of the condition.


Reimbursement limit

The benefit includes the following limits:

  • Up to USD 6,000 per plan year


Documents required for a claim

To review your claim, please submit:

  • A medical report detailing symptoms, date of onset, diagnosis, and treatment plan

  • Itemized invoices and receipts, including proof of payment

  • Receipts for flights and accommodation

  • Medical documentation confirming ICU hospitalization and a life-threatening condition at the time the travel was booked

  • Copies of government-issued ID, if requested

In some cases, additional documentation may be requested to complete the claim review.
