Nomad Insurance Complete: Is trip cancellation covered?

Yes — trip cancellation may be covered

If you need to cancel an upcoming trip for a covered reason, Nomad Insurance Complete may reimburse part of your non-refundable trip costs under the Trip Cancellation benefit.

Coverage applies when the cancellation meets the conditions outlined in the policy.

Examples of covered situations

Trip cancellation may apply in situations such as:

  • Illness or injury that prevents you from travelling

  • A mandated quarantine

  • Certain legal obligations

  • Death of an immediate family member

  • Theft of travel documents required for the trip

All claims are reviewed based on the policy conditions and supporting documentation.

What you’ll need to submit a claim

  • Proof of trip booking and payment, such as booking confirmations and receipts

  • A doctor’s note advising against travel, if the cancellation is due to illness or injury

  • Proof of a mandated quarantine, if applicable

  • Legal documentation, if the cancellation is related to a legal obligation

  • Proof of death of a family member, if applicable

  • A police report, if the cancellation was due to stolen travel documents

Depending on the situation, we may ask for additional information or documentation to complete the review.
