Conditions for Coverage
To be eligible for reimbursement:
Your checked luggage must still be missing 10 days after the loss.
You must file an incident report with the airline or cruise line.
You must complete all forms and instructions from the carrier to attempt retrieval.
Required Proof for a Claim
When filing a claim for lost checked luggage, you will need to provide:
Travel documents: Your itinerary and proof that you boarded the flight/ship.
Carrier documents: The incident report you filed and documentation from the airline/cruise line confirming the bag is still missing after 10 days.
Compensation documents: Any statements from airlines or other sources showing compensation already received (if applicable).
Police report: A report filed at the place of loss within 24 hours (if applicable).
List of lost items: Including make/model, date of purchase, and purchase price.
Proof of ownership:
Purchase receipts and/or warranty cards, or
Bank or credit card statements, or
Serial numbers (photos or written records).
How Reimbursement is Calculated
Reimbursement is based on:
The value of belongings at the time of loss, and
Market data available when the claim is reviewed.
