Nomad Insurance Complete: Is there a waiting period?

Most coverage under the Nomad Insurance Complete plan begins on your plan start date.

There is no general waiting period for the Nomad Insurance Complete plan. Your coverage becomes active on the plan start date, once your application has been approved.


Plan start timing

Please keep the following in mind:

  • The application review process can take up to 10 days

  • Plans can only begin on the 1st or the 15th of the month

  • Your plan start date is scheduled after your application is approved


Important exceptions

Some benefits have specific eligibility conditions or waiting periods.

Maternity benefit

The maternity benefit has a 10-month waiting period.

The maternity benefit includes a total limit of USD 2,500, which may cover:

  • Prenatal care

  • Routine gynecological exams

  • Ultrasounds and blood tests

  • Delivery

  • Newborn care

Hospital admissions for labor are included within the maternity benefit limit and are not covered under the general hospitalization benefit.


HIV/AIDS coverage

Coverage related to HIV/AIDS applies only if:

  • HIV antibodies or the AIDS virus were not detected before your plan's start date, and

  • Were not detected within the first 36 months after your plan's start date
