Not receiving a 6-digit code to log in

What to do if you've not received your 2-factor authentication (2FA) code to log in.

The steps you follow depend on how you receive your 6‑digit verification code.

Check the verification screen. It tells you where to get the code.

Authenticator app

You don’t receive a message when you use an authenticator app. Open the app and enter the code shown.

📎NOTE: Authenticator apps often show codes for several services. Make sure you use the Sage code.

If none of the codes work, sign in using your recovery key.

If you don’t have your recovery key:

  • Customer Sage account: Use a backup method to generate a new recovery key

  • Employee Sage account: Ask an admin to reset 2FA so you can create a new recovery key

SMS text or call

Wait up to 10 minutes for the code to arrive. Check your phone signal first.

If the code doesn’t arrive, select Resend code and wait again.

If you still don’t receive a code, sign in using your recovery key.

If you don’t have your recovery key:

  • Customer Sage account: Use a backup method to generate a new recovery key

  • Employee Sage account: Ask an admin to reset 2FA so you can create a new recovery key

📌TIP: Switch to an authenticator app if possible. It avoids network issues and limits on codes.

Email

When you use an Employee Sage account and haven’t set up 2FA yet, Sage sends a verification code by email.

If you don’t receive the email:

  • Select Resend code

  • Wait up to 10 minutes

  • Check your junk or spam folder

  • Make sure your email system allows donotreply@notify.sage.com

If the issue continues, contact your employer. They can investigate this with Sage support.
