How to Connect your LinkedIn Profile for the First Time

Written by Support

Overview

When you create a Salesflow account, you can build your campaigns before connecting LinkedIn. When you're ready to launch, the next step is to attach your LinkedIn profile so Salesflow can run your outreach on your behalf.

This guide walks you through connecting your profile for the first time, what to expect during LinkedIn's security check, and how to troubleshoot if something goes wrong.

To make the connection go smoothly, check the following first:

  • Your LinkedIn credentials are current. Have your LinkedIn email and password ready and confirm they're correct by logging in to LinkedIn directly.

  • You've finished any Sales Navigator setup, if you use it.

  • Your phone or authenticator app is nearby. LinkedIn almost always sends a verification prompt the first time a new login is detected (see the verification section below).

Connecting Your LinkedIn Profile

  1. Log in to your Salesflow account.

  2. Go to LinkedIn Account Settings.

  3. Enter your LinkedIn email and password.

  4. Select your location and time zone.

  5. Leave proxy settings toggled off unless you have your own IP details. If you do, toggle it on and enter your IP information in the fields provided.

  6. Click Add Account to complete the setup.

Verifying Your Login

The first time you connect a profile, LinkedIn will almost always ask you to verify the login. This is normal and expected, it's LinkedIn confirming that the new sign-in is really you.

You'll be asked to complete one of the following:

  • A code sent to your LinkedIn email

  • A code sent to your phone via text

  • A code from your authenticator app

  • A "tap yes" notification sent to the LinkedIn mobile app

Enter the code (or approve the prompt) when Salesflow asks for it. Once verified, your profile is connected and ready to launch campaigns.

Have access to your email, phone, or the LinkedIn app open before you start, so you can respond to the verification request right away. Codes expire quickly.

Troubleshooting

  • The verification code didn't arrive. Check your spam folder for email codes, confirm your phone number is correct in LinkedIn, and request a new code if needed.

  • "Incorrect credentials" error. Log in to LinkedIn directly in a browser to confirm your email and password work, then try again in Salesflow.

  • The connection keeps failing or your account disconnects. See My Account is Disconnected, what shall I do?.
