Overview

Two-factor authentication is recommended by LinkedIn to keep your account safe.

However, this can cause frequent disconnection issues with Salesflow. To avoid this, you can enable Two-Factor Authentication directly from Salesflow and this will keep your LinkedIn account safe while preventing disconnection from your Salesflow account.

How does it work?

The two-factor authentication will be protected by your Authenticator app so you don’t have to worry, but in essence Salesflow will become an authentication app for your LinkedIn account. Whenever your account needs verification, Salesflow will generate security codes and send them to LinkedIn automatically to prevent account from disconnecting.

We generally recommend using Microsoft's Authenticator app, but feel free to use your preferred authenticator app.

You can use the mobile Microsoft authenticator app to sign in to LinkedIn using the QR code you will find on Salesflow. Your LinkedIn account will still be protected by 2 Factor Authenticator, so it is completely safe!

How to enable 2FA?

NOTE: Your account needs to be Active in Salesflow to enable 2FA.
If your account appears disconnected or incomplete, you won't see the two-step authentication settings.

LinkedIn setup

To prepare for 2FA, first access your LinkedIn account and check if you have 2FA enabled or not.

You can check this in LinkedIn by navigating towards:

Settings and Privacy > Sign in & security > Two-step verification

If 2FA is enabled on LinkedIn, please:

  1. Turn off 2FA*

*This will be momentary, it will be enabled again when you complete the setup.

Salesflow setup

Once 2FA is turned off on LinkedIn, please follow the steps below:

NOTE: Please avoid toggling 2FA on and off multiple times in Salesflow.

  1. Go to Settings > LinkedIn Account Settings > toggle "Enable Two-Step Authentication"

  2. a. If you have verification by mobile app enabled, you will get a notification in the LinkedIn mobile app, tap "Yes". Once you tap yes, please wait a few seconds – the “Show QR Code” option will be displayed.

b.If you have verification by browser, a code will be sent to your email and you will be prompted to enter it.

Please note that LinkedIn may log you out of your devices, this is expected and should not be cause for alarm. You will be able to log back in using the Authenticator app.

  3. Once you click apply for the code or tap yes in the notification on LinkedIn, click on Show QR code

  4. Once the QR code is shown, scan it with your authenticator app.

Now, your account is still protected by 2FA but it will not have any disconnection issues with Salesflow. We strongly recommend to use this option to have your account always connected and protected as well.
