Troubleshooting 101

Written by Sam

Sometimes things in Showit don't work quite the way you expected...and that's okay! Most issues are usually caused by a simple setting or an unpublished change.

Before reaching out for help, here are a few things to check.

Check Desktop and Mobile

Showit has separate layouts for Desktop and Mobile. If something looks correct on one version but not the other, you'll likely need to make the adjustment in that specific view.

Make Sure Your Changes Are Published

Changes made in Showit won't appear on your live website until you click Publish. If you don't see your updates on your live site, double-check that you've published your changes.

Refresh Your Browser

Sometimes your browser may be showing a cached version of your website. Try refreshing the page or opening your website in a private/incognito window to see the latest version.

Check Hidden Elements

If an image, button, or text box seems to have disappeared, it may be hidden in either the Desktop or Mobile layout. Check the visibility settings to make sure it's enabled in the view you're editing.

Check Your Click Actions

If a button or link isn't working, verify that the Click Action is pointing to the correct page, section, email address, or URL.

Check Your Embed Code

If an embedded form, calendar, or other third-party tool isn't displaying correctly, double-check that the embed code was copied correctly and added to an Embed Code box in Showit.

Good to Know

Many common Showit questions can be answered directly by the Showit Support team. They offer live chat support right inside the Showit editor!

Simply click the chat bubble in the bottom right corner of your Showit screen to connect with their team. They're incredibly knowledgeable and can often help you resolve issues in just a few minutes!
