How to Use the Chat Widget

Instructions to communicate with custom groups within the company

The chat widget can be used by managers to make announcements and share important documents with staff. Employees can be asked to acknowledge receipt, creating a clear record that the information has been seen. This helps ensure updates on policies, compliance requirements or workplace changes are communicated consistently. This guide explains how to use the chat widget for announcements, document sharing and tracking acknowledgements.

Using the Chat Widget

  1. From the Dashboard, click on the message icon in the bottom right.

  2. From the pop-up chat window, select the relevant team.

  3. From this window, you can scroll through the team’s message history.

  4. Enter your message.

  5. If you wish to add an attachment, upload it via the paperclip icon.

  6. To require team members to confirm they have read an attachment, tick the Acknowledgement box.

  7. Click the paper plane to send the message.

  8. If you selected Acknowledgement, the responses will be tallied here.

  9. Members of the team will be notified of a new message in the app.

  10. To acknowledge a document, the employee must first view it.

  11. The employee ticks the box to acknowledge.

  12. This will be added to the total team tally.

  13. Back in your account, the live acknowledgement tally will update.
