Savvy Pay

  • Savvy Pay is a secure payment processing system for salons. To use Savvy Pay, merchants must purchase a Savvy Pay-compatible card machine.


Availability

  • Savvy Pay is available in the UK, EU and the USA currently.

  • We are looking into expanding availability to Canada and New Zealand!

  • This is a timely process; however, do let us know if you are interested in us expanding Savvy Pay to your location!


Where can I use Savvy Pay?

  • You can use Savvy Pay in Savvy to request a deposit via SMS or email as you create an appointment.

  • Savvy will also send out a reminder in your automated reminders if the customer has not paid

  • Email invoices for customers to pay directly (at the bottom of the invoice)

  • In the customer's portal, customers can view and pay invoices

  • With online booking, you can hold card details with the no-show/ late cancellation policy enabled (in the Savvy Pay payment settings configuration page)

  • Payment plans or VIP plans to get paid up front or each month automatically

  • In person with a Savvy Pay Card Machine

What are the terms of using Savvy Pay?

Card Machine Ownership

  • SavvyPay card machines are purchased outright, not rented or leased.

  • To use SavvyPay’s secure payment system, merchants must purchase a SavvyPay-compatible card machine.

    There are:

  • No long-term contracts

  • No monthly minimum transaction requirements

  • No rental fees

  • No early termination charges

  • You simply pay for the device and a transaction fee per sale. Once purchased, the card machine is yours to own.


The difference between Online Transactions and Card Machine In-Person Transactions

Online

Online Transactions are all the transactions via links or online booking. You can request payments via invoices and payment links at any time.

In-Person

In-person transactions are all the transactions made via the Card Machine.

When do I get my money?

  • Adyen, our Savvy Pay payment provider, will pay out directly to your bank account completed transactions in two to three full working days, dependent on customer funds


How do I set up Savvy Pay?

  • In your account, you can activate your Savvy Pay. Savvy Support is here to help.

KYC

  • KYC or Know Your Customer is a step that is mandatory to create your merchant account with Savvy Pay. Every Merchant has to have a complete KYC in order to take and receive transactions.

Do I rent or lease the card machine?

  • No. Savvy Pay card machines are purchased outright. Once purchased, the device is yours to own.

Are there any contracts, fees, or charges beyond the purchase?

No. There are:

  • No long-term contracts

  • No monthly minimum transaction requirements

  • No rental fees

  • No early termination charges

You simply pay for the device and a transaction fee per sale.

How do I purchase a card machine?

  • Once you have been verified for Savvy Pay by Adyen within your account, scroll to Card Machines and click to set up a store and order your card machine here.

  • The full purchase price is paid upfront. Ownership transfers to you upon full payment. Please inspect the device upon delivery and report any defects within 2 business days; otherwise, the device is considered accepted.

Can I use the card machine with other payment providers?

  • No. The device must be used only with Savvy Pay’s payment processing services. Savvy Pay remains the exclusive processor for all transactions.

How do I set up my card machine?

  • Your card machine will arrive already linked to your store.

  • Turn the machine on, connect to Wi-Fi and go back to the home screen after any needed updates. You will see your store address, and you can click YES to onboard your store to your card machine. Now, you are ready to take payments through Savvy!

  • You will receive an email with all the quick start tips and functions in your 'It's on its way' email.

Can I take cardholder-not-present payments?

  • Not currently, this feature is being considered. Watch this space!


Who is Adyen?

  • ADYEN is the bank provider that backs Netflix, Uber, McDonalds and Spotify payments.

  • They offer 24/7 support 365 days a year. Which we have access to on your behalf.

  • They are a very large organisation which only are available to large-scale businesses, meaning you get access to their amazing services by using Savvy Pay!
