Before you begin
Your ScribbleVet account must be linked to your Instinct EMR provider profile before appointments and notes will sync correctly. See Provider Mapping for the Instinct EMR Integration for details.
Pull appointments from Instinct EMR
Open the Appointments panel in ScribbleVet.
Click the Instinct button in the toolbar to import appointments for your mapped providers.
To sync walk-ins, drop-offs, or technician appointments without an assigned provider, navigate to
Settings > Integrations > Instinct > Manage Integration > Sync Without Assigning a Team Member.Clicking the Instinct button imports newly added appointments without duplicating those already synced via the API.
Avoid manually entering appointments or using the Chrome extension for Instinct appointments, as these methods can create duplicates.
Push notes back to Instinct EMR
After the note is Scribbled, an Instinct button appears at the top of the note, provided the appointment has synced from Instinct EMR.
Click the Instinct button at the top of the note.
Choose a document template from the drop-down menu.
Map sections, as needed, to match the ScribbleVet note sections to your Instinct EMR document template.
Use the 'Write document to' drop-down to choose a specific visit or non-visit document section of Instinct.
Select Push note to sync the note to Instinct EMR.
The note appears as a new document in the patient's chart in Instinct EMR.
See which appointments are synced
Appointments pulled from Instinct EMR display an Instinct icon next to them in the ScribbleVet appointments list, making it easy to see at a glance which notes are linked to an Instinct EMR record versus standalone.
Only appointments marked with the Instinct icon can sync notes back to Instinct EMR. Remove any duplicate appointments that lack this icon to prevent syncing issues.
Push Care Cards and Dental Charts to Instinct EMR
Care Cards and visual Dental Charts generated in ScribbleVet are pushed to Instinct EMR the same way as notes. Pushed Care Cards and Dental Charts are saved as a PDF in the patient's Non-Visit Documents section in Instinct EMR, and are accessible in the patient's chart without any manual downloading or uploading.
