When Device Mode is enabled, users can quickly switch between members of the same practice without logging in and out each time.

What is Device Mode?

Device Mode is designed for clinics where multiple team members use ScribbleVet on the same workstation or device (for example, exam room computers or shared tablets).

When Device Mode is enabled, users can quickly switch between members of the same practice without logging in and out each time. This allows teams to get started immediately and keeps workflows efficient in busy clinics.


How Device Mode Works

  • One device can be shared by multiple users in the same practice

  • Team members select their name and begin working right away

  • No password is required when switching between users

  • Notes, recordings, and patients are saved under the correct user profile

This is ideal for:

  • Shared exam room computers

  • Clinics using mounted microphones

  • Teams with rotating doctors or technicians

How to Use Device Mode (Step by Step)

Step 1: Enable Device Mode (Admins only)

  1. Log into ScribbleVet on the web

  2. Go to Settings > Practice

  3. Enable Device Sharing / Device Mode for the practice

Step 2: Enter Device Mode on a shared workstation

  1. Click the user icon in the top-right corner of the screen

  2. Select “Device Mode” from the dropdown menu

  3. The device is now ready to be shared

Step 3: Switch between users

  1. From the Device Mode screen, select your name

  2. Start recording or creating notes immediately

  3. When finished, another team member can select their name and continue working

Important Notes

  • Device Mode should only be used on shared clinic devices

  • All notes and recordings are still correctly attributed to each user

How to Get Device Mode Enabled

Device Mode is currently available as a feature flag and can be enabled upon request.

If you’d like Device Mode turned on for your practice, you have two easy options:

  • Email us at support@scribblevet.com with your practice name and let us know you’d like Device Mode enabled.

  • Start a chat with our Support team directly in ScribbleVet, and one of our agents will be happy to help activate it for you.

Once enabled, we’ll confirm with you right away so you can start using Device Mode.
