Site Task is used to facilitate the scheduling, assigning and executing of construction tasks. The application provides an overview of all of your tasks in either a list or timeline view so that you can:

  • Have a clear overview of your ongoing, completed and over-due tasks

  • Complete picture of who is doing what and by when

  • Verify conflicts, constraints and issues between tasks and immediately resolve them

  • Search and filter through tasks by dates and fields including status, creators, contractors, assignees, location and related tasks.

  • Export your progress reports in PDF format.

You can view and manage tasks in either a list or timeline view by accessing the Site Task web application, and navigating to a Site and selecting the 'Task' option in the navigation menu. By default, the application displays the List menu. To switch between the list and timeline view simply select between the icons below:

1. List View

The list view is presented in both the Site Task mobile and web application. The tasks are displayed in a linear list format, typically sorted by task ID, start or due dates, status or other customisable criteria as seen below.

Benefits of using the List View include:

  • Clarity & Simplicity: a straightforward overview of tasks, making it easy to grasp the details of each task.

  • Reporting & Exporting: users can easily filter, search and organise tasks on parameters such as status, or assignee. The list whether filtered or not, can be exported as a pdf.

  • Accessibility: Suitable for users who prefer textual information or have accessibility needs.

2. Timeline/Gant Chart view

The Timeline or Gantt chart view displays tasks visually along a timeline, showing their start and end dates, durations, and relationships between tasks. You can filter the timeline weekly, 2 weeks or monthly. Further filters of the timeline view include assignees (see below), locations, contractors, and related tasks.

Benefits of using the Timeline View include:

  • Visual Representation: offering a visual representation of tasks over time, allowing users to see the project's overall timeline and dependencies between tasks.

  • Resource Allocation: helps in resource planning and allocation by visualizing overlapping tasks and identifying potential bottlenecks or resource conflicts.

  • Dependency Management: Clearly shows task dependencies, such as predecessors and successors, plus parent and subtasks, enabling users to understand the order in which tasks should be completed.

  • Progress Tracking: Enables users to track the progress of tasks and the overall project by visually indicating completed, in-progress, overdue and delayed tasks.

  • Scenario Planning: Allows users to simulate different scenarios, such as adjusting task durations or dependencies, and see the resulting changes in the project timeline.
