Overview
Pharmacy-level settings control how, when, and which prescription reminders are sent across all patients.
You manage these settings from Communication Settings, then Scrypt Reminders.
Reminder types and templates
In Communication Settings, under Scrypt Reminders, you can:
Toggle reminders on or off at a pharmacy level.
Enable or disable each reminder type.
Configure message templates.
Set default trigger values.
This means you can disable a reminder type globally without updating individual patient profiles.
Message templates can include the merge field <<medicationName>> to give the patient context.
Reminder send time
You can set a specific send time for all prescription reminders. For example:
8:00 AM to allow same-day order processing.
6:00 PM to let patients submit orders after work.
This helps you manage workflow and order preparation more effectively. To learn more about the Communication Settings page, see Communication Settings page overview.
Drug grouping period (anti-spam buffer)
Prescription reminder settings include a drug grouping period, recorded in days. This prevents multiple reminders of the same type being sent to the same patient within a short period.
Example:
Drug grouping value = 3 days.
If a Next Repeat Due reminder is sent today, no other Next Repeat Due reminder is sent for at least 3 days.
This helps reduce message fatigue for patients with multiple medications.
What pharmacy-level settings affect
Pharmacy-level settings:
Apply to all patients using Scrypt Reminders.
Act as default values for patient configuration.
Override patient settings when disabled.
