Before You Start
Ensure you are familar with Scrypt Reminders automated prescription reminder service, by reading the following articles:
Enabling Prescription Reminders for a Patient (This article)
Before enabling Scrypt Reminders for a patient, ensure:
Pharmacy-level reminders are enabled
Patient consent has been obtained
The patient has:
Date of birth recorded
Mobile number recorded, or
(optional) Is registered in the Scrypt Mobile App
Enabling Prescription Reminders for a Patient
Step 1: Open Scrypt Reminders
Open the patient profile
Click the Scrypt Reminders badge
A Settings modal will open to record patient consent and configure settings.
Step 2: Capture Patient Consent
Confirm the patient has provided consent
Check the consent statement checkbox
Enter staff initials or identifying text who is recording the patient's consent
Click Record Consent
The system records the timestamp automatically.
Step 3: Enable Prescription Reminders
Within the Script Reminders modal:
Enable Prescription Reminder Service
Select the preferred communication channel:
SMS, or
Scrypt Mobile App (if registered)
Step 4: Configure Reminder Settings per Medication
The medication table allows you to:
Enable or disable reminders per medication
Select which reminder types apply
For Next Repeat Reminders, Choose the trigger logic:
Repeat Interval, or
Days On Hand (DOH)
Enter the relevant number of days to customise when the reminder is sent for Next repeat reminders.
You can:
Select or deselect all medications
Configure medications individually
Notes:
Uncategorised medications can only use Repeat Interval logic
Schedule 8 medications will attempt to use Repeat Interval recored from the current prescription.
Step 5: Review Projected Messages
Within the patient profile:
Navigate to Communications β Projected Messages
This view shows:
Which medications are being evaluated
Which reminder types may trigger
A selected future date range
Important:
These messages are projected only
They are recalculated in real time
If a prescription is dispensed before the reminder is due, it may no longer send
Note: Projected messages are not locked in advance.
Step 6: Save Changes
Click Save to apply the configuration.
Disabling Prescription Reminders for a Patient
If a patient no longer wishes to receive reminders:
Open the Script Reminders badge
Uncheck Enable Prescription Reminder Service
Save changes
No further reminders will be sent.
