Full access required — Adding SDS to binders is a full-access feature of SDS Mobile™.

Adding an SDS to a binder requires an active Wi-Fi or cellular connection.

If you prefer to view a video tutorial for this article, you can watch that on our YouTube channel here.

This article assumes you have already found the SDS you want to add. See How to Search for SDS if you need help locating a product first.

Adding an SDS to a Binder

Step 1

Tap the product name in search results

After running an SDS search, tap any product name in the results list to open its SDS Preview.

Step 2

Tap Add to Binder

On the SDS Preview screen, tap the Add to Binder button.

Step 3

Select your binder location(s)

The binder selection screen shows all binder locations you are authorized to access. Tap the checkbox next to each binder you want to add this SDS to.

Tip: You can select multiple binder locations at once if you want to add the same SDS to more than one location. For example, if a chemical is stored in both the Machine Shop and the Receiving Dock, you can check both and add it to both in a single action.

Step 4

Tap Update Binders

Once you have selected all the locations you want, tap the Update Binders button to save your changes.

Important: If you open Add to Binder for an SDS that is already in a binder and deselect that binder, then tap Update Binders, the SDS will be removed from that binder location.

Step 5

Confirm the SDS was added

The Contained In section updates to show the binders you selected. The SDS is now accessible from those binder locations in Binder Management and in binder-scoped search results.

Need to Create a New Binder First?

If the binder location you need does not exist yet, you can create it from the binder selection screen. Tap the “Add New Binder” button at the top of the binder selection screen.

For the full step-by-step guide to creating binders, see How to Add a New Binder.
