Sharing Methods
Each sharing method works differently. The table below explains what happens when you tap each option and what the recipient receives.
Method | What happens on your device | What the recipient gets |
Your default email app opens with a new message pre-populated with a direct link to the SDS. Enter the recipient’s email address and tap Send. | A link to the SDS. | |
Fax | A window opens where you enter the recipient’s fax number. Tap Send to transmit. | A fax transmission of the SDS in PDF format. Useful for facilities that require fax for OSHA compliance documentation. |
Text Message | Your default messaging app opens with a new message pre-populated with a direct link to the SDS. Enter the recipient’s number and tap Send. | A text message containing a link to the SDS. |
Share Direct Link | The direct link to the SDS is copied to your clipboard. Paste it into any app — Slack, Teams, WhatsApp, a document, or any other channel. | A link to the SDS. |
When to use Fax: Fax transmission is useful when sharing SDS with facilities, contractors, or regulatory bodies that require documentation by fax for OSHA compliance records. If you are sharing for general team reference, Email or Share Direct Link is typically faster.
