How to make sure your customers get the delivery pricing they normally see.
In Sellar you have many options to configure delivery to suit what your customers normally receive.
If you need advice on working out delivery costs, see our guide here.
Remember with delivery pricing:
Costing will need to be added separately to Direct, Courier and Pallet Delivery
Costs stack:
Setting up a flat rate and a price per container will mean that both apply
Container costs are added for each product, not as a whole
If your delivery is free no matter the basket total, leave the flat rate and container type options blank.
All the Pricing options are configured in the same way for Direct, Courier and Pallet Delivery, but apply separately; you will need to set up and edit this for each option.
Flat Delivery Charge
If you offer a flat delivery cost to all deliveries regardless of the contents of the order, you can add a flat delivery charge.
This can also form the basis of a delivery cost, adding to any container type charges in the next option.
1. Click the 'EDIT' button next to the Flat Delivery Charge.
2. Enter your charge and click 'Update'. This will then apply to all orders for this delivery type.
Delivery Charges By Container Type
You are also able to configure charges for delivery on each container type. These are added per item of that type in the basket.
This is most popular for Courier Delivery, where you may charge per item. This can be capped for courier deliveries (see below).
Remember, if you have a flat charge setup too, these will stack together.
Click 'Add Delivery Charge' under the Delivery Charges section.
Select a container type from the dropdown list to apply this charge to. These bundle together the product types set up in your products.
Enter either a pack quantity or a volume and unit to define the size of the products:
For a single keg, for example. Set the unit to 1, then the volume and units to match the container. (20 Litres, 4.5 Gallons etc)
For a case of cans, for example. Set the unit to the number of cans in the case, 12, then the volume and units to each individual can. (330ml, 440ml etc)
Enter a cost for the delivery for this item when it is added to the basket and click 'Confirm' to add the charge. Repeat for all container types you stock and wish to charge delivery for.
These can be edited or deleted at any time using the pencil edit icon next to each line.
Delivery Charge Cap (Courier only)
For Courier only, you are able to set a cap on the delivery costs. This means that when prices from container-specific prices are added to the order, they will stop when they hit this cap. This is the maximum a customer can be charged for delivery.
Click the 'Edit' button next to the Delivery charge cap section.
Enter a price at which the charges for courier delivery will cap. Use 'Update' to save this change.
Free Delivery Charge
Here you are able to offer a free delivery if your customer's basket total reaches a certain amount. We find Customers add more to their basket if they have a target to shoot for π.
This will show on your storefront and update as they add items to their baskets.
1. Use the 'Edit' option next to Free Delivery by Basket Sub Total.
2. Enter a basket price (ex vat and delivery) you would like free delivery to be applied at, and use 'update' to save. This will be shown to customers when they add products to their basket.
Free Delivery by Container Type
Here you can offer free delivery to apply to a specific container type, rather than the whole order. When that threshold is met the delivery is free. We find Customers add more to their basket if they have a target to shoot for π.
This will show on your storefront and update as they add items to their baskets.
Click the 'Add Delivery Charge' option under Free Delivery by Container Type section.
Enter a basket price (ex vat and delivery) you would like free delivery to be applied at. This will be shown to customers when they add this type of Product to their baskets.
Select a Container Type to apply this to. Only these products will count towards the basket price. Click 'Add' to save this to the list.
Repeat for all the Containers you wish to add a free delivery rule to. These will work on a first one met basis; customers don't need to meet all to get free delivery.
