Supplier Setup: Delivery Methods and Pricing

Set up Sellar to match your delivery offerings, both new and old.

Delivery Methods

These are how we attach delivery types, pricing and rules to your Customers

When you land in Sellar you will have three Delivery Methods by default. These are one for each delivery type we covered in the Delivery Glossary.

For your setup, you will want to make sure to match your current delivery offerings and include any new offerings that come with you joining Sellar. To do this, we will edit the optional settings on each below.

For Sellar Distribution, you do not need to complete this; this is only for the three delivery types: Direct, Courier and Haulier.

Adding Delivery Charges

Please match your pre-existing delivery costs before you joined Sellar. If Courier is new to you, see our guide to help you with competitive pricing here.

  1. Click on the Delivery Charges section on the Delivery Method to open it up.

  2. Choose to charge for delivery or not. If you don't and delivery is free, just leave this section blank.

  3. If you want to charge for delivery, choose a flat rate, per-item charge or both:

    1. Flat Rate - Enter a value which will apply to every order regardless of order contents, and hit save.

    2. Per-Item Charge - Use '+Add' to start. Repeat this for all your container types

      1. Choose a container type; this will match your products.

      2. Enter a Pack Quantity. 1 for large containers such as kegs and 24 for example for cans to match the product.

      3. Enter the volume to match the product. This is how you will differentiate your 30L and 50L kegs for example.

      4. Choose Unit to match.

      5. Enter the delivery cost to apply when a product that matches is added to

      6. Repeat this for all container types you have or want to charge for.

If you add both a flat rate and per-item price, this will stack. For example if your flat rate is £20, this will be added to the order in addition to your item charges.

Want to add a cap to your charges? On the left-hand side of the Delivery Method, click the edit icon next to Delivery charge cap and add a value. Once all the charges meet this value, they won't go any further.

Adding Order Rules

You can optionally add rules that need to be met before a customer can place the order through this delivery type.

  1. Click on the Order Rules section on the Delivery Method to open it up.

  2. Choose which option suits this Delivery Method and enter those rules:

    1. Minimum Basket Value - Enter a value that an order needs to reach before it can be placed, and hit Save.

    2. Minimum order quantities - Use '+Add' to choose a container type and quantity to make up your rule. Click Add when done. Add as many as you like; an order must meet this rule to be placed.

Adding Free Delivery Offers

Look to increase basket size by adding a threshold to hit for free delivery.

  1. Click on the Free Delivery Offers section on the Delivery Method to open it up

  2. Choose which option suits how you want to apply your offer. You can use both in tandem, but remember whatever is hit first applies free delivery:

    1. By basket subtotal - Enter a value that an order needs to reach where free delivery is applied.

    2. By container type - Use '+New' add a threshold (quantity) and choose a container type to make up your rule. Click Add when done. Add as many as you like; an order must meet this requirement to get free delivery.

Choose Container Availability

Choose which containers are available to buy for Customers on this delivery method.

  1. Click on the Container rules section to open it up

  2. From the list, unselect any that are not available for this Delivery Method (they are all selected by default)

  3. Use the 'Save' button to save your changes.
