Delivery Glossary

What do all the terms in Sellar mean?

Delivery Method - How your Customer's order will be fulfilled/delivered and how much that will cost. Sellar uses the postcodes of your customers to work out which Delivery Methods we show them, unless overridden in your Customer List.

Delivery Types - The type of delivery the customer will get. These are one per Delivery Method:

Direct - Your Customers will get their order delivered by your own vehicles.

Courier - Your Customers will get their order delivered by a courier. This can be through one of our Courier Integrations or one you use currently. You can choose per order.

Pallet - Your Customers will get their order delivered on a Pallet by a haulier. Like above, you can choose who does that per order.
Sellar Distribution - Your Customers will get their order delivered by our in-house dray team. This is always free for them.

Container Rules - Which containers are available to your Customer on a certain Delivery Method. This is a way to separate your returnable and non-returnable containers. (You can also control specific product visibility per customer in Product Catalogues later on in your set-up)

Order Rules - Minimums your customer has to meet to place an order on a Delivery Method. These can be either by order value or the contents of the order.

Free Delivery Offers - A threshold by order contents or value you can set to offer your Customers free delivery.

FAQS

Help clear up any common questions before you get started putting in your delivery settings into Sellar.

Nationwide Delivery is new to me; how do I price this?

With Sellar you are always in control of your pricing, including delivery. Remember, on your Delivery Method you can price by container, by order or both.

We have a list of courier integrations here and their pricing; remember these are what they charge you, not your customer.

We also have a guide on keeping your delivery pricing competitive here.

I want to use my own Courier / Haulier, not Sellar's Courier Integrations, can I do that?

You can absolutely use your own couriers and hauliers to fulfil nationwide deliveries, if you have negotiated a better deal or just love using the service. When you are using Sellar day-to-day, you can choose who you use to fulfil every order and this can be different. We will take you through this in your Soft Launch call.

Which couriers do you use?

APC - Liquid specialist next working day service up to 30KG

DX - Heavy next working day service up to 60KG

UPS - Emergency service up to 25KG

Pallet Track - Pallet 2-day delivery option up to 1.2 tonnes

How much do courier integrations cost?

Each integration has its own set of charges and surcharges depending on your criteria. We have a page for each option here in our help centre.

How do I choose a Courier Integration and how does it work?

You have the choice on every national order you finalise in Sellar to choose an integration or your own means. We will show you this during your Soft Launch call. Depending on the service, you will either have labels to affix or the driver will come with labels; look out for the instructions in Sellar for your chosen integration.

How do I set up Sellar Distribution?

No settings are needed to get going with this service in Sellar, but you do need to agree to this with your Account Manager.

Can I price delivery differently for different Customers?

Yes, you can but the customer must be in your list as this is how we attach them. There is the ability to add multiple Delivery Methods of the same Delivery Type, each one having different pricing, free delivery offers and order rules.

An example would be different nationwide delivery pricing for different parts of the country. Let's take England and the Highlands as two examples. A second Delivery Method could be added for the Highlands with different pricing, which can be selected to override the defaults against the Customer in your list.
