Verification Badges: What You Need to Know

Sentz Verification Badges: Verified vs. Not Verified Explained

Written by Lydia

We’ve made it easier than ever to get paid! With our new Payment Request feature, clients can pay you directly from the web, no app download required.

You may have also noticed "Verified" or "Not Verified" badges on these payment requests. Here is what they mean for you.

For Sentz Users (Requesting Payment)

If you are located outside Nigeria, your account currently shows a "Not Verified" badge.

  • Why?

    • Identity verification (KYC) is currently available only to our users in Nigeria. We’re working hard to make our verification service available globally soon!

  • Is my money safe?

    • Absolutely. This badge does not affect your ability to receive funds or use your account. Your Sentz experience remains fully functional and safe.

For Clients (Payers)

When you view a payment request, the verification badge tells you whether the user has completed verification (KYC) through Sentz.

Badge Status

  • Verified: This means the user has successfully completed a KYC check.

  • Not Verified: The user is in a region where identity verification is not yet supported, or they have not yet completed the process.

Important Safety Note

Because Sentz transactions are 100% irreversible, we cannot freeze or reverse funds once they are sent.

  1. Only proceed with paying anyone on Sentz if you personally know the recipient.

  2. If you do not know the sender, do not fulfill the Payment Request, Invoice, or PrivatePay request.
