This article covers the physical installation of your Monitor Pro hardware. By the end, your Hub will be connected and your Sensors will be powered on and sending readings to your dashboard.
Note: Sensor registration in the app is covered in Connect Your Sensor in the App. Complete the steps in this article first.

Before you start
Make sure you have the following ready before installing:
Hub — place in an open area free from obstructions, close to your router (LAN) or in a spot with mobile signal (4G).
Sensor(s) — one per piece of equipment. Mount away from the door and high up inside the fridge or freezer so stock on shelves does not block the signal.
Equipment added to Safe Food Pro — sensors must be assigned to equipment in the app. If you have not added your equipment yet, do this before proceeding.
Switch on your Sensor (MP-TS3)
The TS-3 Sensor comes with batteries already installed.
Remove the sensor from its packaging.
Press and hold the blue Power button for 2 seconds until the LCD display turns on.
The sensor is now on and will begin sending readings to the nearest Hub.
To manually send a reading:
Press the Power button once.
The sensor will immediately transmit the current temperature to the nearest Hub.
Install the LAN Hub (WH-2)
The LAN Hub connects to your internet router via an Ethernet cable. Your Hub has three indicator lights:
Power (Red) — solid red when the Hub has power.
Network (Green) — flashes green when connected to the network.
RF (Blue) — flashes blue each time a sensor reading is received.
For a full breakdown of light patterns, see Hub Indicator Lights Reference.
Place the Hub near your internet router in an open area free from obstructions. Keep your sensors close to the Hub during setup.
Screw the RF aerial onto the Hub and the aerial onto each Sensor.
Connect the power supply to the Hub and turn it on. The Power light should turn solid red.
Connect the LAN cable to the LAN port on the Hub and to your internet router. The Network light should begin flashing green. The RF light will flash blue when a sensor sends a reading.
Install the 4G Hub (WH-3)
The 4G Hub connects via a mobile SIM card and does not require a router connection. It is recommended when your Hub needs to operate away from your router or network room.
Note: The 4G Hub does not come with a SIM card. You will need to purchase a prepaid SIM on the Telstra network with at least 5MB of data per month. Browse Telstra prepaid SIM plans. Register the SIM before inserting it into the Hub.
Screw the RF and 4G aerials supplied in the box onto the Hub. Note that the aerials are labelled — attach each one to its correct port.
Connect the power supply to the Hub and turn it on. The Power light should turn solid red.
Place the Hub in an elevated, unobstructed position — such as the top of a shelf — to maximise signal reception.
Insert the registered SIM card into the SIM card tray on the back of the Hub.
Important: The WH-3 is SIM and IMEI locked to the Telstra network. If you need to use a different SIM, contact support@safefoodpro.com.
Verify your readings
Once your Hub is connected and your Sensors are powered on, confirm that readings are reaching your dashboard.
Log in to your Safe Food Pro Dashboard.
Select the Sensors tab. Readings can take up to 15 minutes to appear.
Once readings are confirmed, place each Sensor in its designated fridge or freezer.
Monitor the dashboard for a further 15 minutes to confirm readings are still coming through after the sensors have been moved into the equipment.
Hardware installation is complete. Next, register your sensors in the app — see Connect Your Sensor in the App.
Replacing a Hub
If you have received a replacement Hub, no additional configuration is required. The new Hub will automatically receive readings from your existing sensors once it is connected.
Disconnect the old Hub from its power supply and LAN cable (or remove the SIM card if it is a 4G Hub).
Screw the aerials from the new Hub's box onto the new unit.
Connect the power supply to the new Hub and turn it on. The Power light should turn solid red.
For LAN Hubs: connect the LAN cable to the same router port used by the old Hub. Use the new cabling supplied in the box where possible.
For 4G Hubs: insert your registered SIM card into the SIM tray on the back of the new Hub.
Allow up to 30 minutes for sensors to begin transmitting through the new Hub. Readings will appear on the dashboard automatically — no reassignment is needed.
Note: If your site has a managed network or firewall and the old Hub required IT setup to allow outbound access, the same network configuration applies to the new Hub. Contact your IT administrator if readings do not appear after 30 minutes.
Replacement Hubs can be ordered from the Safe Food Pro NZ Shop or Safe Food Pro AU Shop.
