To sign up to Sharesies, you’ll need to:
be 18 years or older
complete the identification requirements using a valid Australian driver licence or passport, or send us a certified copy of an overseas passport that has been certified within Australia
be able to verify a residential Australian address
be able to top up your Wallet from, and withdraw into, an Australian bank account
provide certain tax info (including your Tax File Number) *

*The Taxation Administration Act 1953 authorises us as your payer (of dividends and other income) to ask you to provide your tax file number (TFN). While it is not compulsory to provide your TFN, we may not be able to offer all our services to you and have withhold payments at a higher tax rate if you did not.
You aren’t able to set up trust, company, or joint accounts on Sharesies.

As part of our anti-money laundering efforts, we need to understand the nature and purpose of your investing. We’ll ask you a few questions about how you plan to invest to help us understand this. A best guess is fine!
Your responses won’t affect what you can access on the Sharesies platform, and can be updated any time in Settings > Personal details.
