Setting up your EFL profile

Written by Nikey

To advertise your profile on the EFL platform and start receiving EFL enquiries, you just need to do two things:

1. Add 'English as a Foreign Language EFL' as a subject on your profile

2. Complete your TEFL Profile Section

Then, you'll need to add the detail to your TEFL profile. We'll ask for a caption and a bit about you.

You'll need to fill out your 'Trial Lesson' rate - which is how much you would like to charge for a 20 minute Trial Lesson with a student. We recommend between 1/8th and 1/6th of your hourly rate.

Whilst you do receive payment for these, they're designed as an opportunity to up-sell your student to regular, hourly lessons - so it's often better in the long-run to choose a lower Trial Lesson rate.

Then, add the Languages that you speak (this can help us to match you to learners with a shared language), and your qualifications (e.g. TEFL certifications).

Lastly - we highly recommend adding a profile video. Tutors that have these on their profile receive substantially more enquiries, as it gives students an opportunity to get a feel of your personality and style before booking in for a Trial Lesson.

You'll need to upload this to YouTube or Vimeo (you can make it unlisted) and then add a link to it in your TEFL profile section.

That's it! Your TEFL profile is now live on Sherpa.
