We send all tutors out an email 48 hours before a class is going ahead if it hasn't reached the minimum number of students.
Tutors are then able to make a judgement decision on whether the class is worth running with this number of students.
If you decide that you cannot run the class with the current number of students, you must cancel the class in order to refund them. You will have the opportunity to explain why the class was cancelled in a general message sent to each student.
We recommend allowing at least 24 hours' notice for cancelling a group class.
Cancelling the Class
To cancel a class, just go to your Group Classes page, click to view the Class and then click on the 3 little dots on the left-hand sidebar:
In the note, make sure to put a clearly readable message that's suitable for sending to your students. This message will be sent to them directly through messenger, as well as via email to ensure they are aware the class has been cancelled.
Your students will then receive a full refund within 5-10 business days.
You can then discuss any alternative lesson arrangements with the students who showed interest in the class and keep them as contacts for a future listing.
What if I want my class to still go ahead?
That's great news! If you want to run the class anyway, you don't need to do anything. The class will go ahead as planned.
What if no students have joined the class?
If you have had no interest in your class yet. Don't worry - there are some alternative options.
We can unapprove the group class with some feedback - allowing you to change some of the dates and resubmit it for approval as a private class at new times. Please let us know if you wish this to happen through our online messenger:
Consider resubmitting the class and requesting to put the class public so we can help market it. This possibility depends on a number of factors. See here for more info.
