Removal of Automatic Discounts

A detailed look at how automatic discounts can be made removable, with options to control customer reapplication logic.

Automatic discounts are those that apply without customer input, offer a frictionless way to run targeted promotions.

But in some checkout setups, merchants may want to give customers the option to remove these discounts manually. Allowing automatic discounts to be removable gives shoppers choose the best discount for their purchase.

Once removed, behavior can go one of two ways:

1. Manual Reapplication Allowed

After removal, the discount is added to the list of available offers in the discount selection field. The customer can choose to manually reapply it if they change their mind.

2. Manual Reapplication Disallowed

Once removed, the discount is no longer listed among applicable offers and cannot be re-added by the customer. It’s effectively lost for the current session unless the original trigger conditions are met again.

Step by Step Guide

Step 1: Go to your Shopflo Dashboard and click on the Discount tab.

Step 2: Locate the discount you want to modify and click Configure.

Step 3: A dialog box will appear to configure the discount. Enable the option to make automatic discounts removable. You can also choose whether customers can manually reapply the discount after removing it.

Once you've completed these steps, the automatic discount will include an option to be removed at checkout. No need to save manually—it's auto-saved, so you can close the dialog box immediately.
