To follow along with this tutorial, you'll need to have a segment made already. If you're not sure how to create a segment then you can go through our article on segments.
We'll be using our High RTO pincodes segment for this tutorial.
Step 1: Go to the Automations page. & Step 2: Click the New Automation button.
Step 3: In the modal, select the Start Blank option.
Step 4: Enter a title like “Block COD payment for Specific PINCodes.”
Step 5: First step is to choose what we want to do, which in this case is block COD. & Step 6: So choose Block Payment as the option from the dropdown.
Step 7: Pick the payment method. Select Cash on Delivery.
Step 8: For targeting specific PIN codes, click Customer Eligibility and select Customer Segment.
Step 9: Choose a customer segment made for the desired PIN codes. This segment should include users from the high-risk PIN codes you want to block. We'll be using our premade one here - High RTO pincodes.
Step 10: Set the channels where this automation applies and adjust the validity period as needed.
Step 11: Review all settings, then click Save to activate your automation.
Automating payment blocking by PIN code helps control your losses due to returns that are specific to some pin codes.
