1.3 Build a reusable inventory template

Written by Support

Goal

Define a named set of products with min/max thresholds that you can drop onto any new Field Location.

Who

Org Admin.

Steps

  1. Open the Templates page.

  2. Click New Template. A blank "Untitled template" is created and opens on its own detail page.

  3. Rename it (e.g. "Standard plumbing crew"), then use Add material to add products, each with a min and max quantity.

  4. The template is now available on any location's detail page. There's no separate save step; changes are kept as you make them.

Notes

  • Templates are org-wide. Field Managers can apply them but cannot create or edit them.

  • Each item in a template is classified as a part, tool, or equipment, and the template's detail page can be sorted by status, price, type, or SKU, in a list or a grid.

  • To build a template quickly from a spreadsheet or document, import a file instead of adding products one at a time (see 1.6).

  • Once a template is applied, the resulting bins are independent. Editing the template later does not retroactively update existing bins on its own. This is intentional: locations are allowed to drift from the template. To push template changes back out, re-apply it to a location (see 2.2).
