Document Manager: Understanding the Data Source you can use to map onto your forms

What data is available to map onto your Print Forms?

The Document Manager editor is attached to the Simpology LADM database. This means that the data that you capture in other Simpology solutions, such as Loanapp and Omni, can be made available in the Document Manager to map onto Documents as you create them.

Simplify vs Full Source

The full LADM datamodel is quite robust; and Document Engine performance can be impacted by the 'size' of the data it is compiling behind the scenes as you build your Document.

As a way to manage this performance, when you are in Edit mode on a document, you can choose to be using the "Simplify Source" datamodel; or the "Full Source" datamodel. This selection is made by this toggle when in Edit Mode:

This will give you the full available datamodel

This will give you the 'lite' datamodel

It is quite useful to use the 'Simplify Source' when you are working on your Document and not concerned about data-mapping (eg creating static content on your document).

It can also be used to quickly establish 'Merge Blocks' which can later be worked on with the "Full Source".

Note that you will want to be using the "Full Source" when you are focusing on mapping of data onto the form.

Note a quirk of the Editor: If you are working with "Full Source", and Save and Close your Editor, and then re-open it, the Editor will still be toggled to "Full Source". However, when re-opening the editor, it will always go back to the lite datamodel, regardless of what the toggle is telling you. It is best to toggle off/on to truly get back to "Full Source".

Select Master Table

When you are working on mapping data to your Document, you are able to drill down through the LADM Datamodel to specific Merge Blocks of the datamodel that you want to use. You are able to do this via the "Select Master Table" in the Reporting section of the Editor:

If you click on this Table, you are presented with all the 'blocks' of data that are available in the engine:

If you then select any of these 'blocks' of data, then all the other functionality in the Reporting section will then be using the data in that 'block'. eg if I select CompanyApplicants in the Master Table, I then get all the Company Applicant data in my "Insert Merge Field" data:

And all my available "Merge Blocks" are related to Company Applicants:

I can re-set the 'block' of data I am working with at any time by going back to the "Select Master Table" and selecting another 'block' to drill down to.

Note a quirk of the Editor: when you select a 'block' of data to drill down to, the Editor can take a few seconds to compile the datamodel to focus on that 'block'...whenever using Select Master Table, wait a few seconds before you try and use the rest of the functionality.
