What are digital services in Loanapp?

Loanapp has a number of Digital Services that might be incorporated into a Lender's submission workflow. Digital services are used to make the submission process easier and more convenient, and to digitally extract or verify data.

When there are digital services in a Loanapp workflow, you will see control panels in the workflow for triggering the service, and displaying the results. We call these control panels "digital widgets":

Each of the digital widgets have functionality built into them to call the service; to display the status of the service (eg pending, completed); and some of them will return the outcome of the service to be attached for your review.

Digital services might be 'blind' (ie you and the applicants don't need to participate); but many will involve you or your applicants. This article lists all the digital services that may be included in a Loanapp workflow (depending on your Lender and their configuration).

Digital Service Statuses

All of the Digital Widgets are built so that they tell you what is going on with the service you have triggered, and the widget display will change as the service gets ordered and completed.

When the service has not yet been ordered, it will be 'Pending':

Depending on the configuration by the lender, the service might automatically trigger when you have completed some application detail or section. Or you might need to manually (choose to) order the service. If the service is an automatic one, the 'pending' status will tell you what it is waiting on in order to trigger.

When the service has been ordered, but is now waiting to be completed, the widget will be in 'Requested' mode, and 'waiting':

Digital Service Reminders/Resends/Cancellations

Each digital service may have functionality to allow you to re-send the request to the service, or to cancel the service. Both are available while the service is in the 'Requested' mode.

To see what options you have, expand the digital widget by clicking on the arrow on the right of the widget panel:

Depending on the service configuration, you will be able to:

  • 'Remind' (send the applicant a reminder email to complete the service):

  • 'Resubmit' (re-send the request to the digital service):

  • 'Remove/Revoke' (cancel the request):

Digital Service Results

The purpose of the digital services is to get data for you/your applicants that will be useful in the loan application process. Many of the digital services will return a output of some sort, which will be used in the Loanapp workflow.

Depending on Lender configuration, where a service is 'Completed' and a document is returned (eg Valuation, Bankstatements, Credit Check), it may be returned to the digital widget and attached for your view/download.

To view/download the service outputs, go to the digital widget and expand via the arrow on the right:

This will open the widget. Click on Details:

If there is a document to download, it will be a file with a .pdf extension. Click the download button to view/download:
