Scammers impersonating SIX

How to spot scams, fraud or suspicious accounts

Written by Liv Campbell

We've become aware of an instagram account impersonating SIX.

When this happens we will report the account and get them taken down as soon as possible but if other similar accounts pop up, it's important to be aware of the signs and know how to protect yourself.

Things to look out for

  • Direct messages on instagram or other social media platforms offering a promotion

  • Account names that look like duplicates eg. six-invest.au2

  • Accounts that have been created recently and don't have much activity

  • Messages asking you to click through to a link

Things to remember

  • SIX will never offer promotions via instagram or direct messages on social media

  • SIX's official instagram handle is @six.invest.au

  • Emails from SIX will come from hello@six-invest.com.au or from a team member eg. phoebe@six-invest.com.au

  • Always check with the SIX team via email or in app messenger if you're suspicious about something you've received

What to do if you think you've been targeted

  • If you received a follow or a message from an instagram account that is pretending to be SIX, please do not engage with it. Please report the account for impersonation and then immediately block it.

  • Let us know as soon as possible by sending an email to hello@six-invest.com.au
