HIN stands for Holding Identification Number, and is associated with all CHESS-sponsored trading accounts. If you have another broker account, you will likely have a different HIN associated with that account.

You can find your HIN in your SIX account by clicking your name in the top right corner and going to 'Account Settings'.

When you sign up to SIX, CHESS sponsorship and your HIN is automatically created as part of your onboarding. If you hold shares under a different HIN and wish to transfer them over to SIX, reach out via chat or email and we will walk you through the process.

If you don't wish to have a CHESS sponsored account and you currently invest directly with share issuers and use an SRN (SecurityHolder Reference Number), you will not be able to invest through SIX at this stage. If you wish to support our campaigns and you already hold shares outside of SIX through your SRN, you can still support by signing our agency agreement.
