New actions in Vehicle Management

Manage your fleet in one place — accurate vehicle records, a cleaner active list, and past GPS positions for your own vehicles.

Vehicle Management is where you see your fleet on the platform: which vehicles belong to you, their status, and how they connect through GPS and other integrations.

We added three actions in Dedicated vehicles so you can keep vehicle records accurate, retire vehicles you no longer use, and investigate past movement when something went wrong — all from the same table you already work in.

Add alternative IDs

The problem it solves: A transport is allocated with a plate or asset name that does not exactly match what you have in Visibility. Tracking fails or the wrong vehicle is picked — often because TMS, telematics, and partner systems use different labels for the same truck or trailer.

What you gain: You add alternative identifiers — extra names your partners or systems might use — so the right vehicle still matches. Fewer allocation failures, less back-and-forth with shippers, and more reliable visibility on the road.

Good for: Trailers with internal numbers, tractors known by fleet codes, and when the plate format from your GPS or TMS integration does not match the real license plate (spacing, country prefix, or how the telematics system sends the ID). Also cross-border formats and any “we call it X but the transport says Y” situation.

Archive a vehicle

The problem it solves: Your dedicated-vehicles list fills with sold trucks, returned trailers, seasonal units, and duplicates you do not want to delete. A long list makes it harder to find what is actually running today.

What you gain: Archive hides a vehicle from your current view without deleting it or turning off GPS. Tracking behaviour stays as it is; you simply declutter the list. When you need that asset again, unarchive it.

Good for: End-of-lease returns, sold assets you must keep on record, and cleaning up after fleet changes without losing history.

See where a vehicle has been (Vehicle history)

The problem it solves: Live map shows where the truck is now. It does not answer “where was it last Tuesday?” — for claims, customer disputes, yard dwell, or checking whether a vehicle actually reached a site.

What you gain: Show vehicle history opens a trail of past GPS positions for vehicles your company owns, using data already in Visibility. You can review a date range, see points on the map, and use that evidence in investigations — without opening a separate telematics portal.

Good for: Incident and insurance questions, proving arrival or departure, finding equipment left at a depot, and reviewing tracking quality on a specific unit.

Note: Available on eligible carrier accounts for own vehicles in Dedicated vehicles (not granted vehicles from another company). Eligibility and limits are in the full article.

Where to find these actions

Open Vehicle Management → Dedicated vehicles → Table view. Use the Actions menu on a row (⋯) for alternative IDs, archive, and — when eligible — vehicle history. You can also open some actions from the vehicle side panel.
