Annotations can be created in 3D, 2D, or with both contexts. SKAND allows you to draw annotations not only in the 3D scene but also on imported images, providing flexibility to highlight details that might not be visible in 3D models. If these images are geo-referenced, you can deproject 2D annotations onto the 3D model, merging detailed imagery with the spatial context.
How to Create Annotations in 3D
Turn on the Draw tool in the 3D scene to start annotating.
Click on a point in the 3D scene to begin your annotation. You can choose to draw a point, line, or polygon.
Point: Click on a single spot in the scene to create a point.
Line: Click on multiple points in the scene to create a line.
Polygon: Click on multiple points in the scene to outline the shape of your polygon.

Click the check mark button to finish.

How to Create Annotations in 2D
Open the Image Viewer and select the photo that best covers the area you want to annotate or inspect.
Turn on the Draw tool in the 2D viewer.
Zoom in to examine the image closely and identify the specific point or object you want to annotate. Annotate directly on the photo, the same way you create 3D annotations in the 3D scene.
(Optional)To project the 2D annotation onto the 3D scene, click on the Deproject button and wait for it to finish. You can adjust the 3D annotation later if necessary.
Save your work in the usual way.
