Views

Updated this week

Views allow users to save the current state of their viewer and its settings, customize the default view of the project, and share it with other users. They help teams maintain consistency, revisit important perspectives quickly, and guide collaborators to the right view.

What You Can Do With Views

Views let you:

  • Capture the current state of the viewer

  • Save it as a reusable view

  • Set a project's default view

  • Create private or shared Views

  • Attach it to a Share Link

Saving a View

Follow the steps below:

  1. Make sure all views and settings are properly configured before saving a View.

  2. Start by clicking the View icon in the 3D Scene.

  3. Fill in the required fields. Users can choose to share their View with everyone in the project (Shared) or keep it visible only to themselves (Private). If you have not created a folder for your View, it will be saved under the General List.

  4. Click Save to create your View.

  5. The View is now visible under the General List. Users can also create folders to organize and nest Views.

Note:

The following are captured when creating a View:

  1. The current view of the 3D scene.

  2. Current layer settings including opacity and refinement quality.

  3. The active view mode, whether Default, 2D Aerial Maps, or 3D Terrain.

  4. All options under the Image tab in General Settings

  5. Selected options under the 3D Viewer tab, from Near Plane Clipping to Label Visibility.

Make sure all relevant views and settings are applied before creating a View.

Private vs Shared Views

Saved Views can be marked as Private or Shared, depending on how you want them to be accessed.

  • Private Views

    • Only visible to the user who created them.

    • Useful for personal workflows or drafts.

  • Shared Views

    • Visible to all users who have access to the project.

    • Ideal for highlighting areas of interest or providing a consistent viewing experience.

Creating Folders and Moving a View

Folders help you organize your Views for easier access and management. You can create folders to group related views, separate private and shared views, or structure views by project phases or tasks. Once a folder is created, you can move Views into it, keeping your project organized and simplifying navigation. Below are the steps on how to do it.

  1. Click the Add new folder button to create a new View folder. Make sure you are in the correct tab – Private or Shared View before proceeding.

  2. Enter a folder name and select whether it will be a Private or Shared folder.

  3. Click Confirm to create the folder.

  4. Created folder now visible.

  5. To move a View from the General List into a folder, click the ellipsis (…) button to access miscellaneous settings.

  6. Click Move to option to reorganize your View location.

  7. Select the created Default folder to confirm the destination for moving your View.

  8. Click Move to complete the transfer.

  9. Expand the created Default folder to access and manage your Views.

  10. The created Default View is now nested under Default Folder with Shared (public) visibility.

Pro tips:

  • Views stored under the General List cannot be nested. Only user-created folders.
