Billing

Introduction

Got questions? View the FAQ’s section at the bottom of this article!

The Billing page in SKED gives you a clear view of your product tier, billing date, and the number of credits with your plan. You can also track how many credits have been used during the current cycle and review usage from previous months.

Need to learn how to update your payment method or check recent invoices? You’ll find that here too.

You can access the Billing section from the Settings mega menu.

Current Message Credit Usage

Sending SMS messages through SKED requires credits, which are used each time a message is delivered. SKED makes it easy for your office to keep track of both current and past credit usage.

In this section, you’ll see how many credits your office receives each month, how many have been used so far in your billing cycle, how many are left, and whether there’s been any overage (billed at $0.03 per credit).

Credits automatically refresh on the first day of your billing cycle—note that this is based on your office’s subscription date, not the first of the calendar month.

How Credits are Calculated

Here is a short breakdown of how a credit is calculated.

  • 160 characters (letters & punctuation only) = 1 Credit

  • 70 characters when you add an emoji SMS = 1 Credit

  • When you attach an image to a text message, this becomes an MMS, which equals 3 Credits

  • If an SMS message goes over 10 credits, it is automatically converted to an MMS and only costs 3 credits.

  • When sending SMS messages to multiple practice members, the cost of message credits is multiplied by the number of practice members to receive the SMS.

View Monthly Usage

After being subscribed to SKED, your office will be able to track credit usage every month. This data could help recognize the times of year when your office should expect to reach out to patients more often.

  • Tip: Click on the blue ‘Credits’ box beneath the year to view past payments more easily.

  • Note: Offices subscribed to SKED for less than a month will not be able to view this graph.

Viewing SKED & Spark Subscription Details

To view details about your SKED or Spark subscriptions, click the toggle at the top of the page next to the page title. The toggles will only appear for products your office is subscribed to, so if you are not subscribed to SKED or Spark, those options will not be displayed.

General Information

The information shown in the General section will vary depending on which billing subscription you’re viewing.

For SKED billing, you’ll see which tier your office is currently subscribed to, any active add-ons, your total monthly price, the type of subscription agreement you have, and the date of your next billing cycle.

For Spark, you’ll see the plan tier and the subscription agreement.

Update Credit Card

If you need to update the card used for a subscription, navigate to the billing page for either SKED or Spark. If you need to update both, you’ll need to do so separately—but the good news is, you can use different payment methods for each if you prefer. Scroll down to the Payment Method section to see your current default card, then click + Add payment method to start the update.

The Add Payment Method modal will pop up. We offer two different types of payment methods: US bank account (ACH) or card. If using a credit card, there is a 3% convenience fee applied to your invoice so it’s highly recommended to set up an ACH payment method.

Add US Bank Account (ACH)

To save the 3% convenience fee, use the US bank account (ACH) method by adding your email address and name then clicking on your bank’s icon. If your bank’s icon isn’t listed, use the search function to find it. This will open a portal where you can securely share the banking information with our secure billing provider.

If your banking provider isn’t showing up as an icon or not populating from your search, click the “Enter bank details manually” option at the bottom of the modal. Enter in your routing number, account number and after confirming the account number, click Submit then follow the directions below..

‼️Action Required‼️After clicking submit, you’ll receive two small microdeposit along with a descriptor codes—typically a 4-character code starting with “SM” (e.g., SMBI8K). This usually arrives within the same day, but it can take up to 4 business days.

Once that happens, you’ll need to come back to the billing page and click Verify micro-deposits. Insert the details and click Save.

Add Card

To add a credit or debit card for, click Card. If you have a Link account, we have a way to login to that account quickly by clicking the Secure, fast checkout with Link. If you don’t have a link account, please feel free to add in your card details then click Save at the top right corner.

Change Default Payment Method

To change the default payment method, hover over the bank account or card and click the three-dot icon to select the “Make default payment method” option.

Invoices

You can easily view previous invoices by scrolling down to the invoices section. You’ll see a snapshot of the date, status, and amount paid, but you can also click on the blue Invoice PDF to view the entire document to save or print.

FAQ’s

How many credits do I have per month?

Each product includes a different amount of credits. To see your credits, click on SKED Billing.

How do I know how many credits I’ve used this month?

Hover over the blue section of the “Current Message Credit Usage” graph and it will show your current usage in the billing cycle.

What if I run out of credits? How much do additional credits cost?

If an office uses all of its credits, additional credits cost .03 cents. For example, if an office uses 1,000 more credits than its plan includes, it will only cost $20.

If I run out of credits, will my messaging be turned off?

No, all messages will still get deployed. They will just be charged at the rate above.

How do I update my billing information?

To do this, go to Settings > Billing and scroll down to “Card Information.”

How did I go through so many credits this month?

Offices usually run out of credits more quickly if they send a lot of One-Time messages, especially if they take a large amount of credits. If One-Time messages take more than 3 credits, it may be worth going over 10 credits or adding an attachment to make it an MMS that only takes 3.

How do I change which product I’m on or how do I change to monthly or yearly?

The Support Team is happy to help! Please reach out to them at info@sked.life.
