It's very easy to set up a campaign with Skyp and should take you less than 15 minutes start-to-finish.

1. Enter a title and goal for the campaign. The Title is only for humans. The goal will be given to the AI. The best goals are clear and descriptive, and give the AI context. Think of the Goal as what you would tell a new employee you wanted to do the same thing as Skyp.

2. Configure your calls to action or CTAs. This is what your campaign will ask your prospects to do. For example, you could ask them to book a meeting. If you do not include a URL then the AI will phrase the email appropriately (e.g., "reply if you'd like to meet" or "reply to find a time"). If you add a URL it will be embedded as a hyperlink (not shown as a raw URL).

You can have as many CTAs as you like but we recommend limiting it to 3-4 at the most. Skyp will not put lots of CTAs in the same email, because this can confuse your recipient. Instead Skyp spreads them out across the campaign. The first email might suggest a meeting, and then the second might suggest reading a blog post.

3. Choose which contacts should be included in your campaign. If you have contacts in the system you can choose from existing contacts, filtering for what you are looking for. A common filter is to filter out contacts in other active campaigns (you do not want contacts to be in multiple campaigns at the same time).

Additional Context is anything you add to your CSV upload. This is the title of the field (column) in the upload that will reflect in Skyp as "Additional context" and be available for the AI to integrate into any emails about a person. This could include things like:

  • Information about their account in your own system. e.g., has been a customer since 2016. The AI might incorporate as "Thanks for being a customer for 9 years!"

  • Information that you have retrieved about them or their account from outside. For example, let's say you learned that they use Hubspot. The AI might take this and generate an email including: "I noticed your website is hosted on Hubspot, and we work with Hubspot customers to improve their website performance"

  • Data on their business they may not know. In our Hubspot exmaple, you might have checked the loading times. "Your Hubspot webstie takes 30 seconds to load, 40% more slowly than direct competitor Acme."

There are no restrictions on amount of data you upload as additional context, or what you do with it. The goal or Prompt settings are good places to give the AI instructions about what you uploaded and what you want it to do with that information.

4. Review your campaign settings. Usually the defaults are a good starting point but you can add your own prompt direction here as well as structured campaign behaviors. Common prompts we see here early on are "write these emails in French" or "use the provided additional context in the subject line" or other very specific instruction. If your intent with additional context is complex this is where you would explain to the AI what to do.

5. Review the emails generated by skyp. This usually takes <60 seconds. If you do not like them, you can either go Back and change the prompts for that specific campaign, or go to the Settings page to edit system-wide prompts. (Note any edits if you click "Back" will only apply to this campaign. Any edits on the Account Settings page will apply to all campaigns.)

The best practice is to click through and look at the emails, then go back and fine tune your prompt and goal to get exactly what you want. Usually this process takes ~5 minutes, but can take longer if you are running a very complex campaign.

6. Fine tune your campaign behavior, such as time of day or days of week you want to send emails. Also choose how to send the campaign–either as a microcampaign run from your primary email address that you can connect here, or as a scaled campaign using Skyp's AI-enabled, high volume infrastructure.

If you are connecting your email account, do so here on this screen by clicking the "Add connection" button and following the Google oAuth process.

Note that at this time, other connections (Microsoft, IMAP) are not available.

At this point if you are on a paid account, your campaign is ready to go live! If you haven't paid yet, you'll be presented with the Pro option or the Growth option depending on whether you chose to send a microcampaign from a single address or a large scale campaign using our infrastructure.
