Before you start

  • Make sure you have an active Slack workspace, and that you're able to add or join channels within it.

  • Decide which Slack channel you want SmartAC.com notifications delivered to. We recommend a dedicated channel (e.g. #smartac-alerts) rather than a busy general channel, so alerts are easy to spot.

  • Unlike some other integrations, Slack is connected at the account level by default — there's no separate OAuth or "Connect" step. You'll only need to set your notification preferences below.

Setting up your Slack integration

  1. Go to Settings in your Partner Dashboard (https://noc.smartac.com/settings)

  2. Navigate to "Integrations." You'll see Slack already listed with a Connected status.

  3. Select "Integration Settings" on the Slack card to open your Notification Preferences.

  4. Under Channel, use the dropdown to select the Slack channel where you'd like notifications delivered. If the channel you're looking for isn't listed, select "Load More Channels" to refresh the list.

  5. Under Notifications, choose which alert types you want sent to that channel. All four are enabled by default — uncheck any you don't want:

    • Service Requested — notifies you in Slack when a member submits a new service request.

    • Lead Created — notifies you when a new lead is delivered to your Slack workspace.

    • New System Insights — alerts you to trend run time issues, failure to maintain return air temperature, short cycle time, and high discharge air temperature.

    • Homeowner Notifications Sent — real-time alerts for high/low temperature and freeze warnings sent to homeowners, so you can stay informed instantly.

  6. Once you've selected your channel and notification types, select "Join Channel" to complete setup.

  7. You should begin receiving notifications in your selected Slack channel right away. You can return to this page anytime to change your channel or update which notification types you receive
