The RealPage integration will change your daily workflows in the following ways:
Leasing (Move-In/Move-Out):
Resident Move-In: The move-in workflow in SmartRent automatically generates an access code to a unit’s door lock and creates an account in our Resident Mobile App based on the move-in event in RealPage (but it can also be done manually by the leasing team)
Example: If the community manager only has permission to process the move-in in RealPage in the afternoon, but the resident is trying to gain access at 10:00am, the leasing agent (with proper permissions in SmartRent) could manually complete this workflow
Resident Move-Out: The move-out workflow in SmartRent automatically removes all resident access and sets units into vacant mode based on move-out events in RealPage (but this can also be done manually by the maintenance team)
Resident Support:
Resend Account Invitation: If the resident did not receive the email invitation to create an account for the SmartRent Mobile App, this would be completed on the Resident Profile page
Resend Resident Code: If the resident did not receive their access code or lost/forgot their code, this would be completed on the Resident Profile page
Send Backup Code: If the resident’s personal access code does not work, this is a last-resort workflow that would be completed on the Resident Profile page
Send Reset Password Link: If the resident cannot reset their password, this would be completed on the Resident Profile page
Maintenance:
View Work Order Code: For each work order that is synced via the integration or automatically created from a device such as a leak sensor, an access code is automatically generated and viewable directly on the work order detail screen in both SmartRent and SmartRent Manager Mobile
Automatic work orders include: leaks, temperature out of range, humidity out of range, battery low, and device offline
Assignment of Work Order: Assigning a synced work order to a specific maintenance technician or vendor will send them a SMS text message with the work order details and access code
Creating Work Orders: Since access to occupied units is always tied to a Work Order, any scenario where the site team needs to enter an occupied home outside of synced tickets from RealPage or the automatic tickets created from devices, will require site teams to generate access codes via our maintenance interface
Possible scenarios could include emergency access or a routine inspection
Closing Work Orders: If a work order is closed in RealPage, it will be automatically closed in SmartRent during the next sync.
If the work order was created in SmartRent (whether automatically or manually), it will need to be closed within SmartRent.
Manually Sync Data:
Integrations within SmartRent will automatically sync data every hour. However, you can manually force a sync at any time by following the steps outlined in our How Do I Sync Data From My Property Management System to SmartRent? article.
