Offline hubs can be an inconvenience to both you and your residents.
Residents will no longer be able to use the SmartRent Mobile App to control their devices and Scenes, Schedules, and Automation will no longer run.
For you, this means residents’ codes may not be removed from the lock automatically when they are moved-out, team vacant access codes may not be applied to the lock when a resident is moved-out, and you will not receive any leak detection alerts until everything is back online.
Troubleshooting Steps:
The most common reason hubs go offline is because they’re connected to a cellular network and the cell reception in that particular area is weak. Whenever possible, we recommend connecting the Hub directly to the internet via a WiFi or ethernet connection. Beyond that, we recommend trying the follow troubleshooting steps:
Ensure the hub’s power adapter is securely plugged into the wall outlet as well as the hub’s power port (the hub’s LED should be lit if powered on)
If connected via ethernet, ensure the cable is firmly seated in the ethernet ports of the hub and router; try a new ethernet cable if available
Reboot the hub by holding down Button 2 on the hub until the LED turns off (about five seconds) or unplug the hub and remove the battery for ten seconds if using the Zipamicro (black and green) hub
