Features
Automatically Lock Vacant Units: we’ve added this new feature which will help to ensure that vacant units are locked at the end of the day. On the property settings -> lock configuration page organization admins can now select whether they want all vacant locks locked at the end of business hours. By default, we’ve enabled this feature for all properties. If enabled, every hour after business hours we will lock all vacant unlocked doors. This ensures that if it fails for some reason, or there is an after-hours showing or service request the doors will be locked.
30 Day Temporary Codes: based on some recent feedback from residents as well as our clients we’ve added a 30-day option to the temporary access code configuration. If selected, residents will be able to create temporary access codes for guests up to 30 days. To select, navigate to the property settings page then select ‘Resident Access’. Using the dropdown select the 30-day option for temporary codes and save.
Download Reports - we’ve added the option for organization admins to be able to manually pull the most recent organization level reports directly from Control Room. Simply navigate to the organization settings page, select reports, then select the report you wish to download.
Access Tab Update: we’ve made some updates to the property access tab to provide a simpler easier interface for site staff to gain access to vacant units. Now, whenever site staff needs access to a vacant unit they can come here and either get their vacant staff code, or a backup code if the vacant code has not successfully been added to the lock.
Expiring Access Code Links: we’ve created a new workflow for sending access codes with the goal of providing a higher level of security around the code itself. On the organization Settings page, select Profile. From the Access Code Communication section, an organization admin can select whether they want access codes to be sent directly in the email/text message or if they would like to send an expiring link, which once clicked, within the allotted time frame, would display the access code.
For ‘Send Directly’ access code will continue to be sent in plain text via email/text message.
Your access code is 2294. Learn how to use your lock: https://smartrent.com/hc/smart-lock
For ‘Expiring Links’ the user will be sent a link that would take them to a landing page.
Your access code is available at https://control.smartrent.com/p/access-codes/
If the link has expired they will see the following with the option to resend the email and receive a new link.
